Vítek of Prčice
(died 1194) | Aristocrat |
Vítek of Prčice was a
member of the oldest Czech aristocracy and most probably the
founder of the Vítkovci
family who owned estates in the south of Bohemia. He served the
Czech king Vladislav II. According an old family legend, he divided
his estates among his five sons, just as the Vítkovci family was
divided into five branches - Rosenbergs,
lords of
Krumlov, Jindřichův Hradec, Landštejn, Stráž and Sezimovo Ústí.
The paintings which give evidence to this legend are in Český
Krumlov, Jindřichův Hradec and Telč.
