Maisel
(died in 1696) |
We do not have any closer information about this eunuch (mezzo-soprano). In 1679 he took up service for Johann Christian I. von Eggenberg and served him until he died in 1696. The prince helped him with his studies in Vienna and in Venice. In an inventory of the music from the beginning of the 18th century are listed two compositions entitled "Salve Regina per Sig, Maisel in mezzo Soprano". He was most likely the only singer for this part North of the Alps.
