Karel I. Filip zu

Schwarzenberg divided the family into two branches in the year
1802 - Krumlov-Hluboká and Orlik. Karel I. Filip established
the Orlik branch that chose the Orlík castle as the family seat. He
devoted his life to a military and diplomatic career. He served in
diplomatic service at the time of the Napoleonic wars. In 1809 -
1811 he was the Austrian Embassador in Paris. His battle plans
enabled the victory against Napoleon at Leipzig in 1813. His
successors carried the family name Karel.
