Description of the Building:
Ground floor building with rectangular floor plan, parallel with
the street, on a hill, in the direction of depth and width of the
building. Classical facade, devided by piedroits. Ground floor on
the entrance level has flat ceilings and two deeper wings in the
right section. Basement rooms (ground floor according to lower
terrace) are barrel vaulted with sectors and crests. Additionally
extended on both ends and added upper floor rear wing.
Architectural and Historical Development:
Similar like some houses in front of the Horní
Gate, this house was not closely surrounded by other
residential houses. The house was built in all likelihood in the
middle of the 16th century.
History of the House Residents:
The first known owner of the house was Tomáš z Přídolí (1574). In
1579 Mates Mayerhofer bought the house and his family inhabited the
house until the 1620`s.
Present Use:
Residential house.
