Leo Märkel

Leo Märkel was a painter at the Vienna court. From 1766 he worked on the Český Krumlov castle on the decorations of the Baroque Theatre and the so-called Hall of Mirrors. He, together with Hans Wetschel, made a set of theatre decorations such as wings, prospects and vertical backdrops painted on cloth or wood. These decorations were designed and used for the Castle Theater in Český Krumlov.
