Ladislav Stehlík

Stehlík is the author of a lyrical travel novel "A Thoughtful Country" that describes his travels around South Bohemia. The book was published for the first time in 1947, then in two volumes with the author´s drawings in 1957, then the third volume dedicated to the Šumava Hills was published for the first time in 1970. The work records many natural or literary interests of the region. Stehlík chose many poem collections thematically connected to South Bohemia and the Šumava Hills. There are poems dedicated to famous Madonnas of South Bohemia (among others also to Madonna of Krumlov and Zlatá Koruna) in a collection called "To Madonna" (1943).
