Perchta von Rosenberg
(around 1429 - 1476) | aristocrat |
Perchta was a daughter of Ulrich II. von Rosenberg, and she was married off to Jan from Lichtenstein against her will in 1449. She quite suffered from that marriage because her husband mentally and physically mistreated and tormented her, as far as we can gain from her private letters. Bohuslav Balbín identified Perchta with the famous White Lady of Rosenberg who appeared in Krumlov, Rožmberk, Telč and in Jindřichův Hradec. Many legends are associated with her, and these describe her as a nanny of Peter Wok von Rosenberg at the Český Krumlov castle or as a very generous cook in Jindřichův Hradec.
